Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone can help me on this one, the cigarette lighter in my car is working in a much as if you press it in it stays in, gets bloody hot and pops out! However when it comes to charging my phone or sat nav, neither of the chargers get any power.

I'm assuming the socket is damaged in some way and the first port or call would be to replace the socket, does this seem right or am I missing something?

Thanks!

yeah try that but also look inside the socket for remnants of say the collar off a sat nav or anything that might have bent the contacts. had it loads of times on another car when the sat nav would leave a little collar in there so the lighter worked but nothing else would go into the socket

luckily sat nav's are pretty much dead in terms of cig lighter powered ones LOL

Thanks Rikky,

Can't see anything inside it, guessing a part of the socket is broken which doesn't effect the cigarette lighters operation. Are the lighter sockets generic or should I get a new one from Peugeot? I assume its pretty simple to replace.

They probably are generic for what fits inside them, but as for mounting in the car, probably more car specific so I'd grab one from Pug or a second hand one off here if Pug prove overly expensive.
