the 2 bolts that hold the fuel rail to the inlet manifold have worked themselves loose while driving and are gone

the car doesent want to start unless fuel rail is held down by hand so does anyone know the size of the bolts

looking at the holes id imagine its a 10 or 12mm bolt, bolts from any supplier will be fine i take it the pug ones arnt magic or anything LOL

cheers

ok so i found bolts but now theres an intermittent starting problem...car seems to want to start fine when bolts are loose but when tightened so the fuel rail cannot move around it doesent want to start

how tight should the bolts be?

i have had this but it wasn't rail related in the end

i have ran my car with only one bolt on the rail for yonks and even with no bolts temporarily. i don't think this would cause a big problem aslong as the injectors were seated properly

Pedro. Since we talked about the whole starting up thing I have been keeping an eye on mine. When it has been left at work in the cold weather recently it has been very very lumpy on startup! definately different to when I had standard cams. A small blip of the throttle is helping startup and sometimes i have to help it hold its revs for a few seconds then it is ok.

I'd think with a BTCC manifold and TB yours shall be flowing even more air so maybe it is something to do with this?

You couldn't also be affecting an earth point of some kind when doing up the fuel rail bolts could you?

it starts eventually just takes a few times of letting the fuel pump prime, blipping throttle on start up doesent seem to help just get quite a bad misfire

once started it runs absolutely fine idle isnt even that lumpy, even through last week when its been freezing cold so im pretty sure its fuelling related

ill try an ECU reset and see if i get any joy
