hi,clutch pedal is sticking the clutch seems fine its the last inch or so it doesnt return to its normal position. now i have checked both the springs and cleaned/greased it all and WD40 the cable but its even worse!!! any ideas? i can get into gears ok but i have to 'flick' the pedal up to its normal position with my toes after every gearchange!!!!! ________________________________________ Owner of a Nile Phase 2 GTI-6 & Impreza WRX . |

Mine did that for a while until I reset the clutch cable. undo the the end at the gearbox and push it back and forth and that should reset it IIRC.If it wont it looks like a new cable im afraid ________________________________________ "Gotta Love The 6"According to my wife i think the 6 is the fastest car in the world, perhaps she is right LoL ! |

Mine's started to do this a little since I fitted the new cable. I noticed that without the cable, the pedal is spring assisted? drove it work today and its worse, seems like i really have to force the pedal down to change gear, the bite point is about 2-3cm from the lowest point of the pedal is this too low?really hard getting into reverse aswell, keeps crunching  ________________________________________ Owner of a Nile Phase 2 GTI-6 & Impreza WRX. |

remove the spring from the top of the clutch peddle when faulty it makes the clutch peddle stick and makes the peddle sit to high. i think the clutch is on the way out. gets stiff a new cable is a temp fix but it will go the same as the old one in a short time . fitting a new clutch and cover will make it smooth as________________________________________ puglessPhase 1 GTI 6 1996-1997 Subaru Impreza GB270 2007-2008 rare spiderman comics same day international courier |

sorry to bring this thread back to life but it is relevant as I have the exact same problem...Can anyone confirm, does this spring simply need removing or replacing? From what I can make out about, it just looks like it need removing all together? |
