Finally got round to fitting my braided brake hoses.

For thoughs that have done it what did you do about the solid to flexi union on the fronts. The original has a splinded end that fits the little bracket in the wheel arch, where as the braideds' dont have the splines and so don't fit into the bracket. ?

well I'm fitting black diamond hoses and I'm not very happy with the fitment to be honest. Last thing i want is for the lines to move with the vibration of the car. The little bracket has little teeth in it which work well with the original splinded hose but not my crappy braideds Doh

hmm mine are goodridge and dont seem to have any splines???

cable ties will have to suffice if fitment becomes a problem

Do you not have a little spring clippy thing to hold everything tight?

thanks for the pic mankee.

heres my version.

the cylinder part of my hoses didn't fit through the hole Whistle so i couldn't use the clip.
How did you fit that hose at the bracket.
Sorry if its a bit of a newbie question

The braided hose should fit from the bottom up into the bracket. It's a mega tight squeeze because the old flexi's splined bits have probably rusted to buggery!

You might need to file the hole a little bit. A punch and a few taps with a small hammer to help ease the braided line in will do the trick. And then you can fit the little springy thing as before. Smile

They do need a wiggle to fit thru but only having fitted the ones I make I know they fit, I know the Goodridge ones for the 205 still don;t fit after 20yr's of them making the thing's, Why they can;t get it right, who know's as it's not difficult at all.

is a special brake spanner required to remove this nut or can an open ended spanner be used?

I'd recommend using a brake pipe spanner as its easier to round them off with an open ended spanner.

The passenger side nut was fine ... but the drivers side requires plan B Whistle

So what was plan B Dunno ... hacksaw out the rounded nut?

Use mole grips on them to loosen them is what I'd do.

yes it looks like it goes back towards the abs pump via beahind the engine, but i thought it came back up and joined with a in line connector in front of the brake servo.
if that makes sense?
ive rounded the nut of big time, took me hours to remove the flexi, maybe id be better off just tightening it back up using molies.
