I've done a search and looked in the FAQ section but still don't know the answer.

Anyway, how can I stop the interior fan from working when the control is set to the "off" position?
In this position it still blows air and the air con still works.
When I switch it to off, I'd actually like it to be off.

Any ideas anyone?
Can the existing switch be modified?
What about adding an additional switch somewhere?

Thanks for the help.

The fan runs all the time to keep the fan speed controller (in the bottom of the fan unit) cool as it only turns off with the ignition.

I haven't really looked into it but you could possible switch the relay that supplies power to the fan controller which would then turn off the motor but i'm not sure if it would damage the a/c controller (like I said i've not looked in to it much).

Yours won't stay on all the time, because you have a Rallye with the non-Aircon setup. Yes

Only air-con equipped cars will have this scenario. Wink

But in turning off the motor wouldn't the need for the fan controler be negated?

I'm looking to add the relay as you stated but have the trigger off the ignition wire intead of off the acc.

There are three wires to the blower assembly - two thick (12V and earth) and another thinner wire. What's this thinner wire for?

Cheers

I have a Rallye non AC set-up on my 6 (aircon pump removed) so is there anyway I can install a switch somewhere to turn the fan off? Or maybe wire it up to the AC button? AS obviously my AC button doesn't do anything anyway
