not many threads on this when i searched, so chill...I've been told the headlight reflectors won't work with p3 lights, any suggestions on this? also do i need to take my V5 and insurance docs with me? any other tips for what i need? they say first aid kit is recommended, same for fire extinguisher, any ideas if this is needed?  ________________________________________ Renault Megane Renaultsport 230 F1 Team R26 |

when driving on the mainland there are afew things that you must carry by law. these includefire extinguisher florestent jacked full bulb replacement kit first aid kit warning triangle and a couple of other things but ive been on the wine so cant remember exactly off the top of my head. If i were you i would take your v5/ license/ mot/ insurance stuff just incase. but from my experiencer french and belgium police tend not to bother with english plated cars. EDIT: if your number plate doesnt have GB on it youll need a GB sticker aswel. You can buy the pack to make your car legal on most ferries but it will cost you a small fortune. you can get free GB stickers from the norfolkline desk at dover when you checkin. assuming you're sailing to dunkirk.Florescent jacket is essential for the ring as you wave that when you stop for an accident to warn other drivers. ________________________________________ ///M5 |

No. Either GB plates or a sticker/magnet GB badge.As said above really. Key items are: High-Vis Jacket Triangle Bulb Kit Extinguisher First Aid Kit I've just come back from Epernay in the other half's R32 at a 'reasonable' pace and the Gendarme didn't batter an eyelid, even the one sitting in a lay-by in an Impreza WRX on the A26... Enjoy. I'm not one to praise the French on driving but their motorway driving is superb - overtake, pull in, overtake, pull in - none of this lane hogging shit that goes on over here. ________________________________________ My Gti 6 - SOLD Scirocco's here! Halfords do a number of touring kits, all the stuff you need.  Definitely need V5 insurance and MOT, especially at the 'Ring. When I had my accident there earlier this year I felt like an extra from The Great Escape....."Your paperz pliss....." ________________________________________ Steve |

High-vis waistcoats are not mandatory in France & Germany - only Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria and Croatia require them in fact.But they are worth having for the Nurburgring alone, not least they can serve as something highly visible to flag oncoming traffic and warn them if you have an incident or come across one.  ________________________________________ Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch....Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.
