If you look inside your inlet manifold you will probably see plenty of oil residue, this oil mist comes up from the crank case with oxygenless air and robs performance from your engine, 1 poss 2bhp max. I know its bugger all but I have been deep into a David Visard book and he claims its a good move & power for free.

Pull pipe off inlet manifold & blank the hole in the manifold, extend pipe to catch tank & Bob's your uncle. You can position the tank anywhere you have room.
The site says they are £36 if you buy 10off, I'm sure postage will be on top.
Cool

oily vapour also reduces the octane rating of your fuel Wink

hmmmmmmmm... i was lead to believe that you took the pipe that runs from the head of the engine to the the inlet manifold... throw that away and replace it with new pipes and the catch tank...Whistle

No you don't have to blank the hole off. You put one pipe from the head into the tank, and the other pipe to the inlet. The oil vapour stays in the tank.

Hmmmm, I think I will block off the hole in the inlet anyway, its not just the oil vapor that reduces your fuel octane, its all the other undesireables that are released.
And the filter is on the tank for what exactlyDunno It will help cock up your fuel/air ratio for sure if you dont block off the connection to the inlet manifold.
This is the next step on from the 60's/70's trick of a pipe from the breather system going into an old beer can...
Cool

where the pipe goes from the head to the inlet... there is two pipes attached to the inlet... so you would have to block off both of them pipes, also there is an electrical connention there, so i dont think what you is planning to do is goner be possible...Unsure

Surely its a bit too late after thousands and thousands of miles on an old engine?

Unless theres an easy way to get rid of the old crud.

Think of the extra weight though! LOL
