Hi all,
I just got myself a Peugeot 306 Gti 6.
Engine type XU10 RFS.
The car is a project as it does not start.
Previous owner stated that timing belt jumped resulting in no start condition.
After I got the car I timed up the engine and attempted to start, no success.
Performed compression test, no compression on any cylinders.
Removed head and found that exhaust valves was bent after impacting pistons.
Currently looking for how to proceed.

Looks like you've got yourself a good project there Kenneth!

If there's no additional damage to the pistons, bores or head then fresh valves and guides would be a good start. It'll be worth checking all of the valves thoroughly, a visual inspection generally won't pick up a slightly bent valve.

Hi Tom,
Thanks for your comment.
I will likely replace boh intake and exhaust valves just to be sure Smile
[Ignore] Do you by any chance know the max allowed gap for the head (in case it is bent)?
[EDIT] Don't worry about question above, found the Maximum permissible bow to be 0,05 mm.

Adding pictures showing exhaust valves that are bent

You're welcome.

Yes, maximum distortion is 0.05mm. It's worth measuring yourself if you can as there's no point taking more off than needed (if you need to).
My head just needed a clean-up to remove the fire-ring indentations - head had been skimmed about 5 years previous so was still good.

The bent exhaust valve pics aren't showing. I think there's something in the FAQ's if you're not sure how to add them.

Hi,
I was hoping to get some input on the current case.
I am now in the process of ordering new parts for my GTI6.

The shopping list is as follows:
-Inlet valves
-Exhaust valves
-Valve springs
-Cam axles
-Various engine seals

Do someone have experience with CatCams "fast road cams" or Newman "fast road cams"?

I do not have the possibility of custom ECU tuning in my area and was hoping to avoid tuning for now (might be done in future).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Note that the valves I have selected are catcams but I guess they should be interchangeable with the cams.

There's a good thread titled "Max lift at TDC" or something like that, have a read as it's not really possible to change the cams alone.

This table might be useful for parts info Thumbs up
