heater blower on a rallye - only working on position4. am fairly sure it worked fine before hand. felt quite stiff messing with the knobs earlier when trying to clear the vents out of with dust, then notice nothing on any setting except full (position4)

read someone said something about cable/flap etc, is this directly behind the heater control panel? or is it something to do with the resistor? it works fine and as you would expect on position4, and also off/quiet on the low positions.

if it works on 4 then I'd look at the resistor as they run full current in position 4, and through the resistor for 1-3

It was the resistor on mine when this happened. Under the lower windscreen panel on the LH side. Take off the wiper arm, plastic trim, the rubber boot thing, pull the plastic mesh cap off and you will see it.

thanks Markus you long haired god

I’ve ordered an overpriced one off Amazon which I’ll get today hopefully and report back, as I know everyone is on the edge of their seat waiting for the outcome

I just looked on Amazon cos I have Amazon Prime and there was one for £13 or so - Sunday delivery, so just did that. Part no 6450P7 - look on Amazon or eBay if you can wait a day or two for delivery.

Yep, aircon models are different, the part number 6441A1 should be the one you need, it's on top of the blower motor, ( passenger side footwell the fan you mention) check it is though as they are not cheap and I'm going on doing my phase 1 with air-con.

Thanks, thought it may be different somehow.
I can’t see how to get to it though tbh, I’ve had the airbag out but still can’t see how to get to it?

you need to get on your back by the passenger seat with a torch and underneath the dash/glovebox in the passenger footwell there's a cover take it off you can't miss it then

Undo the torx screws holding the motor in, drop the motor out and you will see the Resistor
