Could anyone tell me if the GTI6 front wishbones are a different spec than those on the standard 306?

Looking for the 16mm version, Russian site part numbers appear to be 3520H4-Left and 3521E4 Right.

Were these numbers superseded?

Most sites will list only for the S16 or XSI.

Any knowledge would be great,

Cheers,

Tony

If I were you, I would measure which size you have on your car now. If I recall correctly, 16mm is standard for most GTI models, but some are fitted with 18mm. French logic...

S16 and XSI have 18mm.

Those are the correct numbers, those o.e arms do not have the ball joints attached part number for the 16mm ball joints is 364037 ( part numbers for the arms are different on the non sport models ) beware of the aftermarket ones as most have riveted on ball joints so check sizes on them.

16mm ball joints were on the earlier cars, certainly on the GTi6. Sometime in 98 I think it was they changed to 18mm for the rest of production (might have been with the change to Phase 2 but I can't be sure...)

phaee2 was 97, it did not change then.

there are also 2 types, non oas and pas, they give different amounts of camber, pas having more.

too mounts are also different to give less castor angle.

I have a late ‘99 GTI with 16mm... found out when I changed the wishbones earlier this year.

I'm looking to change my top mounts as I build up a set of B8's

Looking on the usual parts places they only seem to list one type of top mount, how do you work out what one is needed,

I don't know what size ball joint I have as I haven't split them yet, but it's a ph2 98 car,

Thanks
