I am thinking of swapping out the original air box as it is well rusty. Also the car needs a new filter and the breather hose has broken. I am on a fairly limited budget to get this so was thinking the RAM Air kit might be an option. Any thoughts on this.

if you can't get a genuine one I have used this bad boy for years and does the job a treat

Forgotten how to clicky my bad

you can run it with a combo of the standard pipe or a 76m silicon and metal piping

76mm 90 Degree bend and a Viper then a flexi hose to decide where you want to draw your air from!

I have a BMC CDA fitted with the OEM tube to the inlet manifold. Sound is amazing! I have two versions, the standard by BMC suggested one and one that is a few cm shorter. Fitting one that is shorter allows for a tube to draw air somewhere else than from just above the tarmac. But have no tube fitted and all works well.

Thanks chaps.
I ended up putting on a Ram Air filter and will make a bracket to secure it and also eventually fit a shorten tube for it. Have yet to fit the supplied piping for the air supply. Must say it sounds really good.

It is difficult to get a good pic as it sits quite low. Will try to get one when it is fitted ideally with a shorter tube.

If you’re interested in selling the original air box you removed, I’m after one for my GTi-6, do PM me. Or anyone that has a spare. Thanks.
