Hi all,

As I did an engine and brake conversion to a RFS and GTi6 brakes on my 2.0 8v, I am now looking to upgrade the brake master cylinder.

Currently, I run the 22mm that was fitted to the phase 1 XSI. It has two connections for the brake lines. Currently, the brakes work but I have to press the pedal al the way down (a lot of travel of the pedal needed).

The OEM brake master cylinder for a phase 1 GTI without ABS is a BOSCH with ref. 0 204 123 343 / MC515 (OEM 4601 G2). This one is not available anymore.

I have a spare 23mm BOSCH (at least it states 23 on the cylinder) but the GTi's were fitted with 23.8mm... Would 23mm be an upgrade worth trying? Or would you recommend going for 23.8mm? If so, are there any straight fit alternatives that I can use?

Thank you all in advance!
