This might seem a odd post
But I’ve only had my gti6 on the road for 6 months last year and only run it in 17 inch alloy,so today Ive change to my 15 inch track alloys and tyres
OMG the difference is night and day,it turns in better, accelerates better
Just overall loads better, only down fall is it doesn’t look as good as the 17 inch alloys

Yeah 17s i can imagine being awful.

I like 16s though. Especially with 205 width tyres with 45 height on them

Amazing lateral grip on roundabouts

I got no issues with the 17's. Plenty of grip and looks great. The 40 profile can feel a little harsh though on rough roads

When I put on my Lions, my radiator burst right away. Don't know if already weak or caused by extra vibration

I'd say it was weak. I got 17s and have had for years and pretty firm coilovers and that's not a problem I've had

I've run 15" 16" and 17" (also Lions)

15" running 195 55 15 tyres are much kinder on the ride for standard roads

16" (195 50 16 tyres) are more rigid but I like the go-kart feel

17" (205 40 17" tyres) look awesome but are propper bone shakers
I blame them for the interior rattles my car has developed over the years LOL
I've not had the Lions on the car for over 8yrs LOL
Still wrapped in Toyo T1-S's

You need to try the holy grail of 205/45/16
