So I've replaced my dead dampers with kyb ultra srs and reused the same springs. Now the ride height seems insane! Any ideas I thought stick the same springs on and the ride height should stay the same? Have I tightened something to stop it settling when I lowered it or something?  ________________________________________ 98 Blaze 6 - Current |

If memory serves this sort of thing happened on some bilsteins, and was to do with where the locking tab was positioned on the strut where it feeds into the hub. did you compare the damper extended length of the old v new before fitting?arnt some of the billies shorter in the rod length? |

I think it's the Bilstein B4's (black oe replacements) where the locating tabs are welded a bit lower on the body which makes them ride higher. I've got them on my daily and it looks like a monster truck, not helped by the fact that i only run 50 profile tyres.I think the Bilstein B8's are the ones with the shorter rod length as they are intended for use with lowering springs so should give the same amount of damper travel. No idea with the kyb dampers though, maybe they took a Bilstein B4 as a sample for designing where to weld their locating tab? ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

you did assemble the top spring plate and top bearing mount correctly ? |

I followed the layout on servicebox I'm gonna have to take the off again and have another look. Cant see how I would have got both wrong though ________________________________________ 98 Blaze 6 - Current |
