According to information provided by the web site howmanyleft.co.uk as at 3rd quarter 2018 there were only 25 Gti6's taxed with a further 112 SORN recorded. Numbers are based on DVLA records znd of course if the data is incorrect or incomplete the figures will be inaccurate. But are there really on 25 (+ % variance) Gti6's taxed and on the roads in the UK? I have one based in Fife, a 1999 Phase 3 in Moonstone and in pretty much original condition. Where are the other 24?

The data is only as good as the source data - how showrooms and dealerships registered them when new.
The How Many Left website will update later this month with the 4th (final) quarter for 2018, so these figures may change.
I have been keeping an eye on the Xsara VTS's - 13 left OTR and 55 SORN Shock

Cheers can I please ask what is the other listing and any reason why there is such a difference between the two sets of data. Presumably DVLA is the common source?

Says 380 and 25. So 405 that are taxed and over 800 sorn.

I reckon a lot of the SORN'd ones have been broken and given automatic permanent SORN status now people don't bother to submit paper work saying it's been scrapped. When I used to break them a bloke would collect shell for free and I kept all the V5's until I just sent them all back to DVLA saying scrapped but shells cut up and sold for scrap rather than whole car disposed of.

You are looking at phase 1 gti's, the other option where there is more is for phase 2/3. Look at the year they were first registered I'm pretty sure. I have a phase 1 taxed Big grin Getting rare now....

There's also two listings for the Xsara.....67 left on the road and circa 160 something sorned. The second listing doesn't mention 2.0 in the title although if you look at the engines tab for that entry, then all of them bar one are in the 1.9 - 2.0 range and petrol.

Either way, there isn't many left.

DVLA published updated data a couple of days ago.

Latest total is 359 taxed. 337 listed as GTi6 and 22 listed as GTi-6

102 Rallyes currently taxed

Xsara VTS numbers are unchanged from above, though one is listed as a diesel and one is listed as fuel type "Other"...

SORN - GTi-6 859, Rallye 191

I suspect Jon's right about the SORNs. Probably quite a few scrapped ones in those numbers that DVLA aren't aware of.

Yep, Phase 1's (1997-2000) are listed as 2.0 VTS, and Phase 2's (2001 onwards) are VTS 16v

There's also potentially 55 sorned as well but no telling how accurate that figure is.

I'm currently.looking for a Ph1 VTS in Bora Bora Green, Citroen's name for Kingfisher....

So basically 293 Rallyes exist out of an original 500 (more than half) yet....
1218 GTi6's exist out of what....6500 or something? Looks like the Rallyes have fared better
