Laugh my ass off

That thread alone takes 85% of the forums allowance!

I was surprised to see that it costs so much each month and forum membership was not covering the cost. Yes there is definitely allot of valuable information contained on modified and standard cars, my engine, bodywork and suspension modifications were all possible with the info that others had posted here. So thanks to all involved.

Totally understand the reasoning behind this Ash, but as said many times above it would be a very sad day. I won't go on and on but I'd like to echo the comments before about info, knowledge and of making new friendships. We are in an exclusive sector with our cars and its great to have a specific club/forum to look to for info and advice. A few years back I had an Opel Manta - rare then! and I was in that club, that club is still going today, they will have significantly fewer cars than we do collectively today. One thing Ash, I've always thought that £5 a year was either very good value or waaaaaay to cheap. The Manta club was £25 a year (although they did produce a quarterly mag) but I wouldn't think people would mind paying more if it would keep the club going - well I know I wouldn't. At the end of the day it's your decision matey as I can only imagine the hassles of keeping it going - it would be a bloody shame though!

cheers

I've just renewed my membership as it just ran out.

I wouldn't have minded paying £10+

I also think £5 is silly cheap for 1yr membership to all this information. Every time I log in, I look at how many users are online and I’m shocked at how few there are so it’s not surprising that this topic has come up. It will be a real shame for the forum to end.

Wouldn't mind paying a bit more, there's a lot of valuable info. Thanks to this forum and specially the FAQ section I managed to get a lot of things done by myself. I'm a member since June but I've spent a lot of time before reading and learning and if the forum disappears it would be a very sad day.

Very true lads! Would be more than happy for pay £10 a year.
Restricting viewing seems silly to me.... Paywalls rarely attract subscriptions, just p**s people off

Ditto. I have been reading in this forum for a couple of years before I finally got a 6 and became an active member. But a tenner or so would definitely be an okay membership fee.

and yet it seemed as though when the £5 subscription fee was introduced it helped kill off the forum,..
FB was another major part in that obviously,.. but fear not! a plan is being formulated to save the forum so don't panic too much! Smile

It's good for putting real faces to real names
And a finding car bits

But for useful info and things you can look back for the forum is still king!

For me this forum is the best source for information! Would be sad if it was taken down!

As mentioned by others already, Facebook is no alternative as one cannot search topics, it is chaos, and many messages/posts seem to be removed.

I am trying to get more Dutchies to join this club! Some of them need specific parts or information... They would have found it here. On Facebook they are without success...
