I’m thinking of getting a high flow cat, is there any other work needed besides just swapping 1 cat for the other? Thanks!

I need a new cat also, so i am thinking about getting a high flow CAT as well, because why not?Anyone know where i can get a bolt-on one? Or any one know anywhere near Bristol that can "fit" one for me? |

helloit's been a while and i have started to get my '6 back on the road, after renewing the breaks and servicing she was driving well and then a horrible sound like a bag of spanners! my CAT has failed i have a powerflow stainless cat back system, and am asking opinions / advice on how best replcae it. (from my limited understanding i can): get a cheap CAT from eurocarparts and swap it every year or so. try to find an original one (and pay big money?!?) try a quality aftermarket - do they exist? or a sports cat. - will they pass MOT emissions? cheers in advance for any assistance ________________________________________ 2000 'W' GTi-6 |

I'd try to get an original one if you can, even second hand ones are good. Mine failed a couple of years ago on emissions and I managed to pick up a genuine second hand one. Gave it to the garage and it passed. Expect to pay £100-150 depending on who's selling it. My Cat was fine on emissions but fell apart. Bought a pattern part and it passed it's first MOT but failed the next. Got a genuine used one from Pug_306 on here and still going strong 3 years later.
