Hi all, just wondering if these are indeed the right bits I'm after. Have a 1998 GTi6 with standard calipers.

Already ordered new pins, anything else you guys would suggest is welcome!

Many thanks!

Definitely compare the new and old parts before rebuilding and decide if you could not reuse the original pistons and pins. Often the original part's surface finish is smoother and if it isn't completely rusted you can clean it with WD40 and remove potentially existent surface rust with some fine wet sand paper.

Recently I bought a pair of rebuilt rear calipers by ABS (All Brake Systems) and the sliders were complete crap. You had to overcome a rather high breakaway torque for it to start moving and you could feel the pins grinding in its guide. I replaced them with the original pins, lubed them up well and everything's nice and smooth now. The rubber seals also fit better on the original pins.

Hi Scott, there's a caliper company in Worcester called Big Redd, have a look on there mate, they'll do the kits.

The kit linked to for the rears is correct, but the one for the fronts is wrong. The GTi-6 has 57mm pistons in the front calipers.
