So as some of you may be aware I'm currently in the middle of overhauling my GTI. While doing this i have hit a good few issues which has meant i have spent quite a lot of time on the phone to my local main dealer and various motor factors looking for replacement parts. In doing all of this I have been made aware of some rather worrying information.

It turns out that Peugeot and most if not all of the main motor factors are now no longer able to supply cambelt kits due to a shortage of the tensioner (137 kit) and pulleys (136 kit) you are however still able to purchase the belt on its own however if you do so i hope you have better luck than i have just had as my genuine belt half split after the first turn over. Turns out I was sold a belt that was boxed back in 2008.

I have also found that Peugeot no longer supply master cylinders at all and most of the motor factors can only supply none ABS models which is absolutely no help for me so i am currently in the middle of re-boxing up the 5th incorrectly supplied one and currently in conversations with Spoox motorsport who I'm waiting for them to supply me photos of what i hope is the correct item.

so basically if you are sitting on a lovely stock pile of parts I think you could very well be sitting on a gold mine in the coming years

Its also a Bosch part. If someone knows the Bosch part nu,ber, you can probably get one direct from them or elsewhere on the net, just like with the rear compensators

If i were to be buying a belt, id get one direct from a Gates supplier. They supplied Peugeot anyhow IIRC. Likely to be much newer...

I ordered an OEM belt kit (136) a week or so ago and it came through fine?

Maybe worth trying a different dealer.

I use Tomo Parts.

Cheers

http://www.bosch-automotive-catalog.com/en/product-detail/-/product/0204123351

The product info is easy enough to find but Bosch discontinued the master cylinder 4 years ago, which explains the current supply difficulty.

It seems they discontinued the compensator last month so I would imagine supplies of that will start to dwindle soon too.

Parts man does come in handy sometimes, but do a lot off my own back with some success

Hi foot,
The GATES part number on the 136 tooth belt kit is K025468XS, they are readily available.
If you just want the belt on it's own it's part number 5468XS

I've come up with a few master cylinder part numbers for you to look at using the original. nmber of 4601F7

1574 is the LPR part number
132520B is the BENDIX number
MC1776BE is the Brake Engineering number
LM49930 is the Delphi number.
I think PMK526 is the TRW number?

Re the pressure reg valve, I have Bosch number of 0986482040 although, this is listed from an RP number so I'm not 100% certain the part number is correct. But it is still available from. Bosch.Hope this helps bud.
Cheers
