Uh Oh, it looks like heater matrix time again, what is it with these holey matrix in the UK. This is now the third car I've owned that it needs replacing.
Oh well a job for next weekend, even though I was completely free this weekend, but only found out when I went to vacuum the car, wet passenger side carpet. .

I guess if the head gasket fails, the pressure in the cooling system is too much for a weak old matrix, well I had the head gasket done a few years ago. Must be just my luck and old age.
Anyway a job for the weekend.
Are the aircond BEHR and none air cond physically different sizes, I have removed much of the air conditioning system I might as well remove the evaporator while I have the dashboard out as well.
But can I replace it with a non aircond cheaper one?.

Thanks allot Ross, that's very kind of you, I will take out the old one first this Saturday, I'm not in a hurry to use the car so when its out I can bring it over to you to compare it. It would be good to see how you are progressing with your motor too.

Yep, thanks welshpug, on GSF there is a £40 difference between the two, but like you say I need the one that will fit my heaterbox housing, which in my case is the more expensive option.
Was looking on ebay and didn't realise that other newer Peugeot models use electric heaters instead.

So, started on Saturday, did a bit, completely stumped by the handbrake cover, not matter how much I twisted pulled, pushed, it wouldn't budge. Anyway got all the centre console out the way, all nuts and bolts, instruments, stalks, radio, vents, wipers etc etc removed.
but when I pull on the dashboard it moves a certain amount but there appears to be something still holding it back in the middle of the dash, around the passenger air bag somewhere.
I also can't see how the glove box comes out, do the hinge pins slide out, If I got that out of the way I may be able to see up inside.
Does anyone know what I have forgotten to remove?.
