Q: Does the resister pin on the fuel guage/sender affect the dash gauge position

My fuel gauge works but starts just under the 1st quater
Or could it be the float stuck ???

unplug the plug at the fuel pump on the tank
short the 2 smaller pins loom side, not the larger fuel pump feed pins
turn on the ignition the fuel gauge should go 100%
turn ignition off
open the same pins turn ign on the gauge should show 0% + fuel light

i have a fault on my daughters hdi the gauge never go's above 1/2 even when full, i believe that is the float resistor wiper worn out just waiting on a tank pump assembly to prov it Wink

No doing sections at a time back to front body wise all mechanicals where done first
Not rhe best way i know but as long as it all gets done properly
I only have the drive to work on

All electrics are carefully done it runs superbly feather light clutch drives like new all pug parts etc

A few teething issues and she has some sticky lifters but with a good run she goes quiet

Just need it back on the road really she doesnt like sitting around

It’s a slippery slope once you start selling them, before you know it you’ll have a vw camper on your drive lol
