Haven't posted on here for a while. Looking at these as a cheap run around for the missus and occasional little fun toy for me. Doesn't seem to be too much info around on them although I've read some horror stories.

Anybody had any experience with them and are they really that bad? Can pick them up for about 2k which I think it's pretty good value for a modern-ish car. Was looking at RS Clios too which by all accounts is a better hot hatch but also twice the price which is more than I want to spend.

I had one

Was an ok car only had a coil fail so all good there
Make sure you get one that’s had the belt done etc as they are sod for a loose belt and not running

Easy to do a decaf and then a map gets you good results

Look out for roten exhausts and shagged suspension all are easily replaced

Yeh chain would be changed straight away. Went to see one the other day which had an exhaust fitted sounded quite well. It had the EML on with a depollution fault warning on the dash, whether that's due to a decat or not I don't know, it seemed to run perfectly.

It's a trader and he's offering a comprehensive 15 month warranty which makes it even more tempting.
