Quick question has anyone ever done this or seen a good job of it been done?. I was thinking of cutting a section out of a non sunroof skin then cutting a section to match the hole in my roof, then welding it a inch at a time (weld a inch miss a inch) I have basic skills with a welder when it comes to body work.

Many thanks

I removed my sunroof and replaced it with a carbon sheet. I cut it to fit the hole. I’m very pleased with the results. Have you tried the search bar?

Yes mate shame most people’s pictures are with photo bucket, looking back though old project threads and there all ruined with out pictures :-( . The car is blanked off like yours but with a metal panel was just seeing how much work it would be to weld one in so it was completely gone. Do you have a picture of yours with the carbon panel ?

I think you will fiond it very hard to make it look decent, would be better to swap the full panel, its a ton of spot welds.

or re-shell.

I’ve got a few pics but don’t know how to upload them without photobucket. I think you will struggle to get it to look Factory non-sunroof without spending serious cash. IMO, your best bet is to look at a simpler way of doing it which you will still be happy with.

Mine looks a bit crap, riveted roof section, disguised with layers of wrap and a roof scoop
