How can you open the bonnet if the cable has snapped at the engine bay end?

I had the same issue once I think Someone said it's possible with a long screwdriver from underneath to unlock it

When you say from underneath do you mean under the bonnet lip and gap in grille or underneath as in lying on your back under the car and reaching up through engine bay?

I thought about that but I don't have a spare china grille. Got a spare bonnet though......could always angle grind a hole in the bonnet!! LOL

take the bumper off and you may be able to reach behind the grille.

the engine bay of a 6 is too packed to be able to reach in from underneath and yank the cable by hand I think, I have done this with a DTurbo though!

I'll try the front bumper off method as it sounds like it will provide the most amount of space. I'm thinking the grille mind bend forward a little to allow access up behind it.

I meant to say...I managed to get the bonnet open by removing the front bumper which leaves quite a lot of space to get up behind the grille. From there, it's just a matter of flicking the catch with a long screwdriver to release the bonnet.
