Well, my daily PH1 gti6 is getting quite old now and is a bit tired (more than 300 000kms). There are some things which need fixing (fog lights not working, ticking recirculating flap, rear beam started squeeking, bodywork also needs attention).

I've been thinking for another daily to commute to work and general city driving. The prices for 1st gen IS200 are low now, and these come with a lot of extras, some of them even have factory LSD fitted. Has anybody driven such (manual) and is it that much slower than a stock GTI6?

I cannot get much money for my pug now (in this condition), so I could give it to my father, who does very little mileage. This way, I won't regret selling it and keep it for occasional blast Smile

slow thirsty expensive things, can make an ok sound, handling can be sharpened.

tbh though, I'd get a beater and refresh the gti6.

What's a recirculating flap?

If it is ticking and it didn't use to, check the spark plugs are done up

Haha, yes I watched these series, but I don't think that this car can be a track monster, not unless with serious modifications and other engine.
Well, they are pretty faultless as every Toyota, but, yes they are so slow and very thirsty, indeed.
I guess I will be keeping the GTI, then. Still a fun car Smile
