3bar is fine for standard engines buddy. I think late xsara vts was 3.5bar

3 bar standard, without mapping its pointless adding more pressure.

What would be the best to go to if you are mapping? 3.5 or 4?

not at all, basically unless youre running lots of boost there's no point running more fuel pressure.

if you need more fuel get bigger or more injectors.

I replaced mine at 160k miles as you could smell fuel on the vacuum hose. I guess they start leaking sometime.

As long as you don't run out of fuel flow / don't get your injectors to work on 100% during mapping I would just use the standard 3 bar FPR. The higher you go pressure-wise, the more you need to lower the time the injectors are powered to get the same amount of fuel into the engine. -> you lose time resolution.

Ryan, is it the same map with the 3.5 bar FPRs?

yeah the phase2 xsara was quite a step forward in ecu's, twin lambda system as well as different injectors though mostly the same, they are much better on fuel than the older MM1AP10 ecu.
