Its quite a decent sized backbox, 400mm long but it's quite wide (I'd say around 400mm). I'll get a pic up shortly.

Edited links for pictures.

I've ordered the acoustafil so hopefully that should make it quiet enough.

2" - not ideal I guess.

Acoustafil still hasn't arrived, so no updates yet. Itching to get it done so I can get back on the track Smile

Bro! Low boost should be running 2.5" all the way through.

Yea it's probably on the small side but it didn't seem to affect the performance, still quick. Would a larger diameter exhaust be noisier though?

I have a full 2.5" jetex system I'm willing to sell sitting in the garage if you're interested that will shut it up perfectly

standard exhaust tapered from 2.5 at the engine to 2" at the tailpipe.

Thank you to manthos - I now have a Jetex fitted, and its definitely a lot quieter. I think the performance is slightly better so definitely having the 2.5" bore helps with the low boost charger. I just need to get it to an exhaust fitter to alter it slightly as its knocking underneath a bit (struggled to fit it whilst lying underneath my trailer), then I can book another session on the track and find out for sure Smile

Thanks everyone for the advice - much appreciated!

Slight issue, but just want to make sure I'm not being a dumb ass. Its knocking underneath the car, so I took it to an exhaust place and he had a look. He said the system seems to be too far forward towards the front of the car, and he let me have a look whilst it was on the ramps.

It does seem that all the brackets, bends etc, are about 2" out of place. He suggested I take it to an exhaust centre that creates stainless systems and have a 2" section welded into the cat section to push the system backwards into the correct place.

When fitting the Jetex, I had to remove the existing decat pipe as it had an incorrect flange (I think thats what the joint is called) for mating up to the Jetex system, so I used the spare cat I had in the garage and knocked the internals out (effectively making it a decat system). I'm not sure, but i'm guessing the decat I had before was longer than the original cat on the original system.

Whats my options? Get a new decat pipe made? or modify the cat i have to be longer? Is there anything i can do to lengthen the cat without having to remove it from the car?

Any pics of the previous decat flange, current joint between cat and centre pipe?

Either get the correct flange welded onto the decat, or get extra length welded onto the end of what is currently fitted.

I can't imagine a hollowed out cat is good for air flow, although I'm sure it's been done time and time before. Your better off with the proper decat but with the correct flange fitted Thumbs up

it wont hurt it, less restriction than a cat but messes up the pulse tuning less than a straight pipe.

It's charged now, not sure it matters as much as on n/a or before a turbo. Best scavenge possible is the way to go - get heat away as quickly as you can

Just realised I didn't update this thread. I ended up getting a spookx decat and a trusted garage to fit it all properly, no knocking and all aligns up properly. Took it to donington this week for a trackday and didn't get flagged. Thanks everyone :-)
