Hi everyone,

Been noticing a strange whine coming from the near side door whenever using the central locking. Instead of investigating the problem when I had a chance, the door finally gave up last night and now won't open from inside or out.

My questions are: Has anyone experienced this before? If so how do I go about getting it open, or taking the inner door covering off, which I'm guessing is pretty impossible if you can't open it!

Would it be the solenoid that's gone or could it be something else?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

I guess it is dead locked and that's why you cannot open it from inside?

What happens if you use the key to unlock the door?

That worked! Didn't even think of that at the time, it seems to be the deadlock button on the key that's causing it to stick. Does anyone know if you can get brand new solenoids or is it a 2nd hand job?

Good! Sometimes you don't see the wood for the trees. Smile

I don't know which solenoids you are talking about but first I would check the wiring to the door for any breaks or corrosion in the round multiplug. It's a common fault and causes different problems with central locking, electric windows, speakers etc.
