Parked my 6 up a few weeks ago went to it this morning it won't fire up. Turning over fine etc. Thinking it's the immobiliser maybe as central locking isn't working but was working when I left it a few weeks back. Key buttons aren't working (they were working when I left it) and when I unlock with the key in the door only that door unlocks, not both. Any ideas?

Just checked fuses and no6 fuse was the problem. I replaced it with a new one but it's immediately fused again. Hmmm?

check the CL fuse, with that popped it wont disarm the alarm which in turn wont allow the immobiliser to disarm.

obviously a short on that circuit, find out what it feeds and start unplugging stuff till the fault goes away.

Yes, it's that same 5A fuse which runs the interior lights, CL and immobiliser. Probably a short in one of the doors wiring which is causing the fuse to blow.

My rear wiper leaked and shorted the fuse to the locking system and ignition so i'd defo say a fuse!
then might be worth having a look at that rear wiper motor relay for corrosion or wetness!

Right guys I've not had time to have a look for the problem yet but have noticed a water leak up by the passenger side ultrasonics sensor. The roof lining is damp in the corner too. Could this cause the shorting of that circuit? Hopefully have time at the weekend to investigate fully.

Thanks

It could well do as the interior lights are on that circuit.

Thanks Stan. Had a little time to look at this today. There is water getting in, I presume from the aerial. The two lights were plugged in and are working fine however, the orange one wasn't plugged in. What is this? With the three plugs disconnected plus the left and right door looms, the fuse is still blowing. What would you guys look at now?

Thanks in advance - I'm clueless with electrics! Dunno

Water in roof Thumbs up

Looks like you have water in your remote locking sensor
Get out the old hair dryer and make sure all is crispy dry then try again

Any idea on fuse number

Is your car 2000 onwards

F4 5amp fuses are (if im guessing your panel correctly)
Pas airbag neutralisation , instrument panel, passenger compartment protection unit coolant temp unit and auto locking ??

Or F6 5amp,, clock and outside temp display , passenger compartment unit ,instrument panel, luggage compartment lighting

Is there water in it e.g the loom connection side not the sensor side
It doesnt need to be plugged in for the wire to contain water and short the fuse

No water anywhere I can see... Started the car today and had heater on for good 20 mins to dry things out. Popped the 5A fuse back in and everything was normal again - central locking worked, instrument panel worked fine, clock/outside temp working etc. Turned the car off then went to check the fuse - it had fused again. So I presume I'd dried something out with the heater on which sorted the short circuit. Really p**sing me off now don't know where else I can look!
