As Welsh says - Cold Drawn Seamless steel tube - it's mechanically drawn over some dies to remove the welded seam and refine the grain structure to strengthen the steel.
The basic rule of thumb is CDS is twice the strength of ERW (your general steel tube for most things), and T45 is twice as strong again*

(*assuming decent materials, not always the case, a lot of 'CDS' sold by the unscrupulous for car/rollcage use is CFS NBK - basically it's been heated and normalised/softened in an oven to make it easy to bend for hydraulic work and as a result it's nowhere near as strong as mechanical spec tube, and doesn't actually meet the required MSA specs for competition cages. That's why I always supply mill certificates with rollcages for the tube.)

Pickup from platers on Friday morning so they'll be with you all next week Smile
More steel coming tommorow for the next batch and the carbon's just arrived for the prototype upper. Thumbs up

I may do a small batch of powder coated candy red/blue/etc, again as I've had a few people wanting them, but I'm going to have to check the pricing as the plating is cheaper in large batches, so it offset the increase in material prices since the last batch.

Can the rest of the guys from batch 1:

12. Pugheaven ... (CDS unplated)
13. Manthos - Batch 1
14. Russbez - Batch 1
15. Jared boy - Batch 1
16. Orta - Batch 1

PM me their addresses so I can get the address labels all sorted out, and let me know how they want to sort payment, no rush on the latter but I'd like to get everything boxed up ready to go. Smile

It's out with the courier, there's only Pugheavens CDS un-plated one not out as I need to blast it, and Manthos's awaiting payment.
