Been looking at boosting the Rallye as an option to my need for something a little bit quicker (Megane R26 is also an option!!). I'm not a fancier of the supercharger route and was wondering if anyone on here had turbo'd their 6/Rallye in the last 2 or 3 years??
I see a Dutch company do a manifold....

https://www.dp-engineering.nl/index.php/citroen-peugeot-equal-length-xu-16v-turbo-manifold-welders-nightmare.html

Looks pretty decent. Obviously stuff will have to be moved and other work done but I prefer this to SC,

Would be looking for about 370-400hp so I reckon a decent GTX2860 would probably do the job nicely.

Any thoughts?

I'm dreaming of charging mine one day. I don't like the sound of supercharged '6s much but it's a tempting option as there are all-in-one kits available. Are there any turbo build project threads? Would be nice to see something!

EDIT:
Okay, I found some project threads:

just buy the megane, so much cheaper route to good power and a gearbox that'll cope with much more torque than a be box.

very good chassis.

Binkagti turbo'd his back in the day, it made good power but wasn't overly reliable.

I'm also converting mine, I've used the dp engineering manifold and downpipe with a gt3071r turbo. I removed the brake servo pump and i also had to modify my thermostat housing for it.

Something to do with pugperformance making it out of cheese with old wheel nuts welded in the back of the turbo and not supplying the internals that were paid for....

^ if I remember correctly his original setup was done by ab motorsport, he has changed the exhaust manifold and turbo since then though.

I maybe getting engines/cars mixed up but I think the engine was out of a 205 they done years ago and the turbo conversion was done by ab motorsport, Colin then ran it like that for a bit then bigger turbo and maniflow exhaust..... I bought his old exhaust manifold and turbo when he uprated to the parts fitted now

Megane R26 with stage 1 mods (exhaust, intercooler and panel filter) will be 260-270bhp straight out the box

Add a megane 250/265/275 turbo 630cc injectors and a decat and say hello to 300bhp easily.

Only limiting factor on the meganes are the standard rods, they don't like much over 300 ft/lbs and have a habit of getting banana shaped with much more torque.

It's not just the engine though that makes them such a great car,the suspension is sublime and the LSD that comes as standard is brilliant Thumbs up

Plus the megane is a nicer place to be,has better brakes fitted as standard and will do 40 mpg on a run are all plus points in my eyes.

Only negative to some ate the rear end looks.

I'm smitten with mine and cant recommend them enough as natural progression from a rallye/6.

The meganes certainly seem to go well on the Nurburgring too, they strike me as a great out-the-box car.

hmmm no actually, there is a solution from spoox for 2500 if you supply trhem with a diff and a box, or 3300 ish if not. The box is THE ONLY proven solution bar non and has been tested on their time attack 205. They have also done a few boxes for of the same spec for a few people with no reported issues.

So for the price of a super high boost supercharged 306 you should in theory be able to create a reliable weapon.

The gearbox is the only part that lets my car down but saying that its not a massive issue tbh.

Making the power with these engines is easy using forced induction. Getting it reliably is the problem and as people say the transmission is where the problems are. Do what you want if you want to turbo go for it and don't let others change you're mind. Remember the weak link is the transmission! My advice would be enjoy the car for what it is if you want much faster buy something faster to begin with otherwise expect to pay big money for the results?
