Lots of trouble recently with starting.
Usually it starts first click, then ticks over steady around 900rpm.

Now won't start at all, turns over, but doesn't even think about firing.
Does start eventually.
Oddly, if I turn the car on and not try to start, leave it for a few minutes, starts perfect first click.

If you try to start first thing, doesn't want to know for a few minutes, just turns over.

After searching for an answer, seems alot have trouble with the Crank sensor, under the thermostat housing.
Taken the crank sensor connector off, tested for resistance, got short circuit between pins 2-3, and open circuit 1-2.

Crank sensor suppose to have 300-400 ohm resistance pin 2-3?
Pretty sure pin 1 is earth.

Would like some help, and you may save a rallye from being burnt in a field with a crazy guy dancing around it.

First thing, clean up all the earth points including battery terminals.

Unlikely to be crank sensor as it actually works sometimes. Would be completely dead.
Check multi relay behind battery box isn't broken. Major culprit. Check inertia switch above that is ok.

Always check the basics first.
Pretty sure it is the battery only 12.3v.
Charged it, starts first time.
It probably won't hold the charge, so new battery then.
Any recommendations for a battery make, one that will last?

Apparently 12.66V for 100%, 12.5v 75%, 12.4v 50%, 12.3v 25% charge.

S5005 then.

S6005 AGM looks interesting, 3x lifetime, non spillable.
Not many places sell it though.

Cam Sensor was the major culprit.

Refusing to start nightmare.
Back to starting first click....
