My tacho and now speedo are both being a bit intermittent at the moment, at first it was just the tacho.
Am I right in thinking it's probably just a bad earth for them causing this?
The coolant, oil and fuel gauges all seem to be working fine.
For reference i'm using a DTA S40 which provides the tacho feed.

First port of call, check the multi plugs in the front nearside wing for corrosion. Thumbs up

The plug under the glove box can also cause this.

Thanks for the replies guys, just spent a couple of hours looking round, the Earth in the drivers footwell was a bit dry and crusty so ive wire brushed it all up and put it back. The tacho wire had snapped where I'd spliced in the new wire from the S40 so ive re soldered that.
The connector on the vss was all wet and manky from a previous coolant spill so Ive carb cleanered that and wire brushed it all.
Fingers crossed that's all the issues sorted, I'll find out tomorrow on the way to cadwell LOL
