Guys,Anyone any ideas how to figure out the original supplying dealer for your car? Want to try and trace a bit more of the history of my Rallye etc in my ocd-esque quest for originality. Would like to know about the supplying dealer etc. No idea where to start though. Cheers ________________________________________ Cherry Red Rallye .... On going OEM spec restoChina Blue GTi6 .... Hasn't got much s/h......think I've got the service book but CBA to look for it this time of night.So how does the reg give it away? I do know some letter combos where regional specific. If you want to change the OCD up a gear, this doc contains a full list of the area identifiers used between 1903 and 2001 in the UK, scroll down to about page 10. Post-2001 area identifiers are different. Take the 3 letters in your number plate (e.g. 'AFV' ), disregard the first one (the 'A' ) find 'FV' on the list, and it says it was registered in Preston. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |
