at those prices I'd rather pay a bit more and get a new one!!

an used box from a breaker is the cheapest option

I've just been on servicebox to see if i can work out how to help out, but i have no idea. I'm guessing you might need the VIN numbers for various models to then look at the parts inside the gearboxes to calculate the FD?
I only have the VIN numbes for my two gti6's and even then i didnt see anything obvious to work out the FD, sorry Wayne.

I’ve got a 4.75 Bacciromano in my 6speed box Wayne with 205/50/16s .... but can’t get into 6th with it ...im going 132mph at 9000 and just run out of road at Combe ....which is a fast track in sections

I wish I’d got 4.9 now so I could use 6th and have even better than now 1st /2nd /3rd gear for Prescott hill climb ....

I think 4.9 In a 6speed for me would be perfect Thumbs up

depends on the ratios, think youll be surprised with how quick it goes through 3rd, Colin is on a 3.6 odd fd and still uses 3rd up the hill!

Mei ...as much as Sandy said Colin’s older engine was similar to mine in some respects mine isn’t designed or mapped as Colin’s is ....I’m just playing with Hill climbing really Mei and the way my cars setup now it’s far to stiff for Prescott Suspension wise m8 .....

Sandy capped mine at 9500 and I think for Combe I’d be better off with a 5speed really....hopefully this time next year if all goes to plan and Tony’s Sequencials prove there worth in his Rally car .....I’ll be looking into getting one m8 ....stupid / Silly / pointless but that’s what I do very Well LOL

I won’t be changing mine now ...just wise I’d gone 4.9 now
