Does anyone have any ideas for when you mechanically max out your tie rods
but you need an extra 5mm to get back to zero Sad

for the full story:
I hit concrete in the city the other day, bloody thing wasn't marked and I turned late.....
popped a tire in the process Crazy managed to limp to a garage rotated the tires now have an odd one on the back,
I hit the front right it is now +5mm it was +9mm but it is now mechanically maxed out.

any ideas?

More than likely the rack has taken a hit and bent the tie rod.

Jack it up and have a look round, see if you can see anything obvious.

does this mean i am replacing parts or i can get away with some form of tie rod extensions? (if they exist?)
the vehicle drives and feels fine currently.......

You need to find and replace the bent parts.

I would also check for damage to the subframe less likely to be bent but not impossible

What do you mean +5mm or +9mm? Doesn't mean anything to me. You need to replace what's bent which is probably inner and outer track rods and wishbone and then get it tracked up properly.

yep, left side looks close but right side is three quarters of a degree too upright, as is common with a glance against a kerb.


looking at the king pin angle its way too low on the left too, not sure what specifically this points to though.

the rh caster is 2 degrees out, which could point to a wishbone or strut bent back.

If your a poor student that can't afford to maintain your 306 as said stop crashing or get a push bike! LOL
