Having the Rallye pass it's MOT today and back on the road I'm wondering what to do to it next...

Already has...

Refurbished front suspension (rods/bushes/mounts)
Bilstein front/GAZ rear shocks
Braided brake lines
21mm Torsion bars
17" OZ's
Quickshift lever
strut brace
K&N induction kit
Momo steering wheel
Scorpion exhaust system



Having strong feelings towards fitting a Maxi kit in the longer term but wondered what you guy's thought about more shorter term mods that would make a difference....


Any thoughts??

Thanks folks...

Brake-wise the plan is to use the front 4-pots from my Skyline GTR when I fit the Wilwood 6-pots I have waiting to go on. Should take care of front braking.

Like the diff idea...will keep my eyes peeled!!

I'll second the Rich W flywheel & crank pulley suggestion. It really makes the engine so much keener to rev with these fitted.

I would definitely put a Xsara VTS steering rack in - I've done that to mine and it is epic. I'd think about a Quaife diff and maybe the flywheel/crank pulley as these mods add to the lighter/keener Rallye concept.

Second the better rear dampers suggestion.

Wouldn't do the Maxi kit. You can go too far with a car with mods for the sake of it. A well-sorted Rallye is brilliant without over-egging it.

Some cavity and surface wax on/in underside bits to protect them is a good idea.

Also, give it a really good polish and clean inside and out, drive it and enjoy it.

I was tempted with the maxi kit and wide track but had concerns has to how long it was going to last has a road car before it started getting damaged. I spent the money on big brakes and wheels and hopefully decent tyres in the end and hopefully getting it finished for pug fest

TT - I don't think that is a proper VTS rack. The Xsara VTS came with the 2.0 not a 1.8 as stated in the ad, so I suspect that'll be a standard Xsara unit.

They fetch big money on here because proper ones are rarer than hens teeth!

Yes. Although I've moved it back and left a little nearer the exhaust manifold so I don't suffer from throttle body icing in the winter...

Spot on! nice lightweight 7x15 alloys with decent tyres will make a massive difference over the standard cyclones Thumbs up
