Unfortunately not, but we do have two parking spots and our garden backs into a road so may build a carport or garage in the future Smile tempted more by a car port I think...

Wow it's been a while since I looked at this thread, im still on here though looking through the how to's and other projects that are going on Smile

If I am honest I have not done as much as I would have hoped and am more doinf running repairs than upgrades but here we go!

I have replaced the twist on postive terminal as this was forever coming loose, and it's not cool when your engine dies in a que into a carwash...
You then have to get out, reconnect your battery and start off again...

Shiny...

I have also replaced the starter motor as the one on the car went kaput, not too bad a job when you have previously removed the inlet and you don't need a new gasket Smile

The oem replacement seems to turn over a bit quicker which is nice Smile

Finally I have fitted the KYB Ultra SRs and top mount bearings but they did not go on easy, and the ride height even after a few months is too high Sad

Any ideas on what I could have done wrong would be highly appreciated!

I defo put the bearing on the correct way round... and Compressing a spring is scary stuff btw...

Here are the old shocks coming apart

And nice matching blaze shocks going on which is a bonus...

lovely...

Heres a pic outside Caffeine Machine which I defo recommend a visit, they have some amazing motors turn up most weekends!

Not enough Peugeot representation either!

The issue with the height is down to the dampers, you'll find the rod is shorter on the standard GTI dampers.

I had this issue when I first replaced the dampers on my Dturbo as most aftermarket dampers are for all other models, I've only used OEM ones since. I've got some B8's for the GTI that I've been meaning to fit for a while now (B8's have the shorter rod).

The GTI and Dturbo trim car dampers have a 20mm shorter rod than the other trim levels.

You might want to get a boot cover for the battery terminal.

I'm glad to see you've still got this and it's been looked after.
