Once the car is up to temperature after you have driven a little if you then turn it off for example you pull up to put some fuel in, when you come to turn it back on again it dies. always turns on from cold fine everytime. Once warm it will turn on and as revs drop immediately die

icv has no control on fuel mix, only idle speed

ICV can cause stalling when warm. If you don't have a spare try cleaning it as well. Is your idle actually lumpy as you were discussing in the other thread?

air leak will cause this as the ICV cant keep up with the changes

spray some brake cleaner around the manifold joints and vac pipes listen for engine note change

i had a similar issue with a PTFE Throttle body gasket leaking only when hot,
car used to stall all the time when hot not at all when cold

Thanks Cullybackey yes I had a slightly similar thing on my first 6 and it was an air leak so I was also thinking this might be a possibility I will try

I had this on my low boost mate.

I believe it's down to the fact that on a standard car the ICV only has to control the idle air from the throttle body into the manifold plenum and that's it.

However, on a charged car it has to control that area of volume as well as the volume in the charger, pipework and intercooler which is a much larger volume of air to control - thus the ICV cannot cope.

This used to be the general school of thought anyways.

So basically the only way to fix it is to go stand alone ecu as the icv will then not be needed?
