Hi, so I've put another engine in my low boost rallye due to the last one dying and everything went alright except for now it idles at about 3k rpm so I've not driven it LOL the idle fluctuates slightly by 100rpm also. First thoughts are that there's a big air leak but if I dab the throttle it will sit at higher revs or drop back down and cut out completely. Changed over fuel pump/ignition relay and icv. No different. If it's not an air leak anyone have any suggestions? Cheers Thumbs up

more than likely something like inlet manifold leaking or split resonator box on the inlet

Cheers for that Ricky turned out to be that in the end! Sorted the idle now but Unfortunately now the car doesn't want to do anything when I use the throttle it just cuts out, somehow it's fine in reverse though Dunno dodgy tps/crank sensor?
