Anyone know how it is wired up? Wiring diagram is just one wire in, one wire out, both from the ecu. I assume one is 5v/12v supply and other is a signal back to the ecu. But then I have also heard the knock sensor generates its own voltage, which means one is signal and one is an earth. Can anyone enlighten me?!

knock sensor generates its own low voltage by picking up the "knock" its possibly a piezo electric crystalline element type microphone,
you will find it is wired with a two core screened cable to stop interference noise being picked up via the cable,
