Hi gents anyone know if its possible to repair the spring in the barrel or is it a refit job

You can as I refurbished a 205 one a few years ago

Thats good news have to physically twist it back to stop the starter motor and idea how

Did you get this sorted? I have the same problem now, I have to turn the key back as soon as the engines starts otherwise the started doesn't disengage and makes a horrible grinding noise. Is the spring easily replaced??

Not yet changing the engine first its the chewing up you starter motor noise you just have to be quick on the pull back lol
