I stripped the engine that was in goldie last week, the top piston ring in each cylinder has chipped and lost some of its coating. I'll upload some photos this weekend and update my project thread, luckily the bores appear to have survived. Pretty sure my coolant temperature being so high has been a big factor in it and there's also signs of detonation which i think is what actually killed the rings.

Good luck with bracing a single skin bonnet, mine was comical when i didn't have my middle aerocatch and aluminium stiffeners bonded in, it was wild above 100mph Laugh

Edit: Once again, top work Thumbs up

Sorry to read that ...
Yes please get some pics up ASAP and defo update your project ....

Yes I had to foam fill the front of my Twin skin Fibreglass bonnet as I had similar over 100mph ....
I will be reinforcing the underside with bonded Carbon tubing etc
and hopefully that will sort it 100%

Big thank you Steve Thumbs up

My new 48mm Jenvey Billet x 53mm long (one piece) upto the Jenvey flange trumpets being made @ Satchell...Big thank you to Maxi Motorsport / Tony Palfrey...

I will push the round tube through the Airbox holes then press the Jenvey flange on (not in the pic] then alloy Tig two spots to keep them fixed ....
These are 2 parts total and my old ones were 3 parts Total ...

This is the old prototype billet alloy strengthener one used to test ...

This shows how it will go on and the screws fix through this side into the back of the trumpet ....basically = no bolts / screws or washers to worry about coming loose and getting sucked into the engine

The billet alloy strengthening two plates then easily fix on the outside and can be removed without cutting it...

Drilled the 3mm tapped holes out in the Satchell inside trumpets and re-tapped with 6mm threaded holes because I’m running a billet rear support alloy plate...
