I'm confused! What are you making an airbox for?!

Hi Pete
I should of said project Airbox and making some items to assist the fitting of it LOL

I'm still confused, isn't the big carbon/kevlar bit the airbox?

Dry sump looks loads better like that!

Pete the back of the rear Airbox does not 100% line up with my Jenvey angle ...so I’ll mod it to fit ...Ryan had to make a 16 degree wedge up on his Maxi Replica also ...but I’ve got a cunning plan LOL

Pete the £78.00 delivered bits from Neil Brown / Pace arrived today and only orders them yesterday....

Ah ok, I thought you were making an airbox to feed an airbox or something! Wouldn't it be easier to fabricate some angled spacers to alter the angle of the throttle bodies to be parallel with the airbox?

It always makes me chuckle when they put the red caps on the fittings but leave the other end open. I suppose it stops them getting bashed but seems ott to me!

I’ve been told not to change anything Pete
Sandy wants to back to back test the Airbox V the original setup Thumbs up

Also remember my inlets virtually straight and I’ve been told that was the 4th design / made manifold Before they got out what they wanted ...

Totally agree Pete ....Red caps make me smile

Should be good like and i'd be interested to see the results. My only concern would be induction noise tripping noise meters. I've had issues with a standard px600 type filter and it probably doesn't but i imagine those airboxes to help send the noise out of the front of the car!

OLD PHOTO From 2years ago

Can’t believe how much difference dropping the engine and modifying the standard bumper to what I wanted and now I’ve got it being modified again by Fibreworx and made out of Carbon/Kevlar ..I’ve seen the progress today and I’m over the moon so far ...

My exhaust is borderline but its definitely induction noise that trips the sound meters, had it at Croft and Oulton in the past. Pain in the arse as there's not much you can do about it. I bought a carbon airbox that i've yet to fit to try and quieten it down.

Carl does run one of those filters yes but I don't think his engine is anywhere near the spec yours is. Its basically the overlap of the cams that does it, when the inlets and exhausts are open together, same noise thats going out of the exhaust but its unfiltered coming straight back out of the trumpets.

Made this correct angled wedge to let the chap who’s making me a slide on back which I can graft on - giving me the correct trumpet angle as before and using the Carbon/ Kevlar back plate to hold the back of the trumpets as it did before but it was a alloy back plate ...

So say Sandy found if the back plate was at the back of the mouth of the trumpets it made more power ?...who am I to argue

I’m not doing much more apart From getting more direct cold air to the inlet ...I’m not changing Amy trumpet or back plate length as I want a proper back to back test

Made a Polycarb template so I can 100% make sure the Airbox Will match the Jenveys
90 -95- 90 gap
Makes life so much easier and I can show the chap making the false Rear graft on angled rear Airbox

The alloy back plate in the picture won’t be used now Thumbs up

Hopefully you can see the Satchell trumpets - they are different to normal trumpets as the back plate screws to the rear of the mouth with silly little 3mm dome head Allen screws

Well they did ?...not any more - I drilled and tapped them out to 6mm bolts as the 3mm once loctited were almost impossible to undo

Hopefully the new Carbon / Kevlar redesigned bumper will be here in 4weeks Fibreworx is finishing the filling and smoothing of the old one to make a mold

Finally getting somewhere with the Airbox ...
Two weeks and it should be back ?

Got the back section being angled and extended a little / modified in Carbon / Kevlar to match front

Got Satchell trumpets tapped out from 3mm to 6mm

Got a split overlap support billet back plate in 6mm being made to support inlet and back of the airbox -something the works cars did just before they stopped production ...because of vibration and heat / expansion...

Received the two stage filtered Air filter from a UK distributor via France and it was cheaper

Pic below -Bought a metre of Carbon / Kevlar cloth to give to my man to fabricate rear angled extension....
