Miles mentioned today that he has good information that Bilsten are making new design dampers for 205 & 306s again ...
These will be Coilovers that he will be hopefully using on his own car .

They have told Miles depending how many & how deep your pockets are they can make them remote also ...
He's Hopefully going to have more info end of next week ...

I'm aware they made something along these lines years ago ?
But it's great to know they can see a sort of gap in the market for these old cars ...wonder how much they will be talking about ?

For any more info contact Miles end of next week Thumbs up

I have some pts bilstein 205 group a front dampers, only height adjustable and made for rallying so came in tarmac and gravel damping rates, with 225 or 185 lb springs to suit, and the two types of rear dampers.

rears are still available, fronts are inverted insert type and still available, pretty sure they still have the lower casings too, they will fit a 306 but the droplink tab is at a different angle.

Any pics Mei ?
Price wise Not to bad then ...

Miles said ....new fronts will be for 205 only ...
And other fronts will be 100% for 306 with tabs in correct place ....and Coilovers

He said new rears will fit both & be two ways .

I'm going Black Art Design on fronts so no interest to me ...but backs maybe ?...but I'm more than happy with my Group A 205s ...

Inserts where never that much but I guess I'm used to trade prices, the long top spindle used to be the difficult one to get hold of, But as said a new range coming so will update when I know more

For the uninitiated, what's special about inverted dampers?

Because the strut is taking some of the suspension side loads, inverting the damper and using the body as the upper 'rod' means it's much larger and stiffer than using it the other way up, which means stronger suspension, better geo control, and less friction in the damper as there's less flex between the seals and bearings.

However, the latter point can go either way, as you have twice as many sliding surfaces, so it depends if your original setup is stiff enough anyway....

This is good news but I wish they would just sort the tabs on the B12 kits as they would be more in people's budget Smile

Would love a set of Bilstein clubsports for the 6 would thes. Come with adjustable topmounts that wouldn't need cutting to the turrets ?

Also less unsprung weight, which is always a good thing for turn in and handling in general, similar effect as lightened wheels.
