beside the lambda and the green coolant sensor.

what else could be causing an overfueling issue?

my exhasut smells rich and a little like marzipan. it barely got through emissions.

Map sensor and icv replacement did a great deal for my smelly pipe

Icv and lambda did the best of it then a new map sensor regular use getting the exhaust nice n hot helps to clean the cat all should help and hopefully cure

Presuming the engine is good no leaks etc

no oil. my lambda is pretty new. i have a new green coolnt sensor on the way. might try a map sensor see what happens.

did you notice much difference in peormance or throttle response etc when replacing the map sensor?

Yes mate not real change in power overall but the engine runs smoother feels better generally

Is your lambda bosch if you have used an alternative this could still be the issue

just took my throttle body off today (to get access to the map sensor)

and noticed it weas rather sooty/oily inside.

so i gave it a little clean with some isoropyl and tis all shiny.. on the inside anyways (including icv)

then, in taking it apart etc..... i realised there was a vaccum leak.... in the shape of the oil breather pipe bypass thingy. green circle is where the leak is, red is where that pipe goes onto.

while the enginei was running blocking this with my finger made my idle dropp slightly so it has some effect.

ive now put a bolt into the pipe (going towards throttle body) so its blocked and no vaccum leak.

firstly....is this dangerous for my engine? do i need this extra oily air bypass?
secondly....could this be a cause for my overfueling?

Possible overfueling issue
dont block the air intake bud
not quite sure what your explaining or have done
On the 6 the oil brether and the air both come through the filter mine where seperated when i first got it
put it back to original made a massive difference in the way it performed helped with fuel consumption also should imagine putting yours back to how it should be will clean up your smelly pipe or at least help had induction kit on mine gave a little more top end but helped nothing with regards to management

If its been sucking in air un filtered that will gunge everything up inside causing s**tty fuel management etc etc etc clean in restore to oe then see if you have issues if you still do will give you somewhere to start but will help loads

the brass thing ive circled in red bypasses the butterfly valve in the throttle body. it used to be connected to the oil breather hose. at that "broken" y junction ive circled in green where the leak was/is.

like you said at one time all this was connected/sealed in the air intake system meaning all of it would of been at a similar pressure.

but mine has been cold air induction kitted so the oil breather section was/is redundant. to the point where all it is/was doing is causing an air/vaccum leak

blocking up the hole seems to of cured it...(the hole i circled in red)

throttle response has improoved (far less sluggish)

and it looks like my mpg has gotten better.

seems like the vaccum leak was casuing my map sensor to incorrectly read the air pressure.

thanks for the info
