As per title, I've recently got a 2001 mwb transit with the 2.4 90 bhp turbo diesel lump, (RWD).

On the test drive and drive home (about 10 miles) was perfect, was then parked up for about 2-3 weeks and since then it is massively down on power.

Started investigating and the air filter was soaking wet and bits of it had gone into the turbo, took the turbo off removed the bits of air filter and cleaned the turbo out, the blades on the turbo don't appear bent as when it's running it looks fine and doesn't make a racket, have also changed the fuel filter and had the fault codes read and nothing came up.

Anybody ever had a similar problem?

check the intercooler and the rest of the pipework.

also have a look at the live data on the diagnostic stuff, compare to the expected values.

Check the diesel quality if its old and collapsing it will give you a loss in power
If its been sitting for long periods diesel can grow bacteria diesel bug !! Try draining the tank put some fresh v power diesel in tis good stuff

New filter wont make a difference is the fuel is degraded Smile

Check the oil cap. If it's milky, someone's probably thrown one of these in.

Has it got an EGR? My 2005 110hp use to either cut out randomly or loose power.
