Anyone else had their otherwise standard car dyno'd running 270H please?
Did mine today. Very impressed by the torque and power curves except a bit of a fuelling hole at 3.5k rpm. I was wondering if its a cam-specific issue or something up with my car. Fuelling otherwise is perfect Dunno

They did well in my race engine, 203. That was with 45mm Omex bodies, Longman's ported and polished head, and 4-2-1 Maniflow manifold though!

Interesting they worked so well on a standard engine, maybe I need bigger cams

They drive very well on standard management, but then it does run a lot of fuel top end as standard.
But they do fit with standard pistons (timed right) so yeah you could go for something a lot bigger. Might lose a touch of driveability under 3k rpm though, but I guess you aren't too woried about that.

If it's under 3k I'm in the pitlane Smile I've got pocketed pistons so have some scope for more lift. Need to learn how to time aftermarket cams, that's the only thing that puts me off.

Never had mine on a dyno but running Richard Longman 270 cams. When I got the car had a MASSIVE flat spot between 3 and 4K. Thought it must be retarded cam timing or something.

But swapped the open air filter for a BMC (slight improvement), replaced the MOT failure cat and lambda sensor (another slight improvement) and then changed the cambelt, water pump and crank pulley. Bingo, flat spot gone.

Would not have thought it should make any difference but it did?
