I am looking at doing an order for parts soon.

on the current list is the GTI6 inlet manifold (complete), exhaust manifold and possibly CAT,
is it worth putting these on an XSI, are some more worth while than others?
would it be better to go aftermarket or these are more than good enough.

if i get these parts should i get a GTI6 ECU to match up, and allow for the 6 injectors instead of leaving those stock.
I know the exhausts manifold will be at least 3hrs of work for a mechanic, which the budget isn't that happy about.

is it worth getting anything else, as shipping is my killer not the parts, so the more now the better.

Leave the ecu as is bud if you need those bits I can get you a good price on inlet and exhaust manifold and I know we have a good oe cat as well - we post stuff abroad all the time so it may not be as expensive as you think

Cheers

the gti6 ecu will only work on your engine if you change the loom, add the 4 coil packs, modify the head to take the cam sensor, change the valve springs and cams (which may need machining of the valve seat in the head)

better to just buy a gti6

all with twice as many KMs as mine and a few thousand dollars more in cost.
and they don't have four doors.

I did this a few years ago I couldn't get the inlet to run right on the xsi manifold I had the cams and exshaust manifold too, bined the lot 2 months later and just fitted t a gti6 engine and box the difference is night and day. Id save up and keep a eye out for someone breaking a gti6 and buy the lot to convert it if I was you
