Have got an oil cooler with a Mocal thermostatic sandwich plate that I want to fit to my 205 with a gti6 lump.
I have read the threads about getting the extended threaded section etc but mine already has it fitted I think, My issue is that even with that fitted there is no thread which comes out past the sandwich plate. Am i being thick or do I need something extra to allow me to fit it?

Thanks

The threaded insert doesn't look like its screwed in very far at all. You may wish to check that.

The adapted piece you need is readily available from Merlin, JJC etc.

unless that plate is at 80c the diverter shuttle is stuck in the bypass position Wink

i suggest you strip that plate and clean the shuttle

ive had an issue with these not closing due to the shuttle being to tight in the casting

Thanks for all the responses! That makes alot more sense now!!
Will also check the diverter part, had no idea what it was supposed to look like!

Does anyone know off the top of their head what thread size I need, Am not with the car now so can't measure it!

    Thanks again
